About
This blog is an idealistic 23-year old woman’s attempt to vent feelings and rationalize happenings in this world. Although I have occupied this blog, I do not plan on enforcing this occupation through concrete barriers that will prevent visitors from traveling through this site. Nor will I use security check points to make sure that individuals have the right nationality/race/ethnicity in order to comment. This blog is an expression of my thoughts on international issues, “local” D.C. politics, human rights, globalization, culture, conflict, and whatever else piques my interest, with a focus on the Middle East from a Muslim Arab American perspective.
When I first started blogging in September 2005, I haphazardly signed my posts with a simple “moi” (French for “me”). I did not realize at the time how far I would go with blogging, but the “name” stuck, and I have since grown quite attached to it. This perceived sense of anonymity gives me the freedom to express my thoughts without worrying too much about the consequences. That is not to say that I don’t measure my words and think more than twice before I click “publish”. My posts should give you a pretty good idea of the kind of person I am, without all the baggage that a name and picture can carry.
